The Decor8 AI platform includes Decor8 AI Interior Design App for iOS and Decor8 AI Interior Design App for Android that allow users to redesign interiors using just a photo of the room. Additionally, if the room is empty, the app can automatically furnish it with the desired décor style. This feature is known as Virtual Staging, which involves creating digital renderings of fully furnished rooms instead of physically moving furniture into an empty space and taking pictures. Virtual Staging is considerably cheaper and, if done right, can maximize the creative use of the space.

Moreover, while virtual staging can dramatically enhance the appeal of a property, it may not capture the unique charm and potential quirks of an unfurnished home that some buyers might appreciate. Some people prefer to see the raw, authentic state of a property to gauge its potential and imagine their own furnishings and decor without the influence of pre-set styles.
As long as renderings are realistic (close to actual state of the property), slightly enhanced by AI/Image Processing, it should open up endless possibilities, and that's what Decor8 AI is set out to do.
Making Virtual Staging As Realistic As Possible
At Decor8 AI, we've dedicated a significant amount of time to experimenting with generative AI models like Stable Diffusion, focusing on image segmentation, mask generation, and in-painting techniques. Our aim was to produce renderings that are not only beautiful but also highly detailed and of high quality. These renderings accurately reflect the structural layout of rooms, including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and windows, and feature appropriately sized furniture. The results were realistic and actionable, verified by using Google Lens to confirm that people can actually purchase the furniture pieces and décor items depicted in our designs.
This success prompted us to enhance Decor8 AI's capabilities through an API, offering valuable tools to the real estate industry, particularly for those running marketing apps, property listing apps, or chatbots that assist potential buyers in learning more about properties and their value.
Introducing Virtual Staging API, SDK and Plugins
Thus, the API was born. All the features and functionalities of the Decor8 AI platform/apps are now accessible to app developers through a simple API. In addition to the basic HTTP API, I developed SDKs for Python, JS, and Dart, making it more convenient to integrate the API into apps catering to different delivery platforms.

In addition to the APIs, we've put forth effort to bring the virtual staging functionality to No-code apps with a Bubble Plugin for virtual staging and Zapier Integration (Pre-release).
